Hannah Roswell Rhea Tucker was born January 25, 1825, in Wayne Co., Tennessee, the 4th child of Moses and Martha Viannah (Austin) Rhea. She married Rev. Lewis Gordon Tucker May 19, 1842, in Tennessee. To this union, 11 children were born: James Milton, John Rhea, Albert Spartan, Rufus Alexander, William Walker, Benjamin King, Moses Porter, Baby daughter, Roenia Jane, Cornelia Ann, and Martha Viana Hannah.

The family moved from Tennessee to Arkansas, then in 1857, left to live in Texas. They came to Texas in a covered wagon with 4 oxen, making the trip in 6 weeks. The family stopped in Leander, later moving on to the Gabriel River. It was here that James Milton and John went to the Civil War, serving under Gen. Robert E. Lee.

In 1857, the year they came to Williamson Co, Rev. Lewis Gordon Tucker organized the first Cumberland Presbyterian Church in that part of Texas, known as the Elm Grove Church.

Hannah died on December 31, 1887, in Williamson Co., Texas. She was buried in the Matsler Cemetery in Williamson Co., Texas.
