Mrs. Ruby Garrett McKenzie died Thursday, September 7,1989, at her residence in Mobile, Alabama. Mrs. McKenzie was a native of Kilmichael.

Mrs. McKenzie is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Jones of Mobile, Mrs. Phyllis Godwin of Loxley, Alabama, Mrs. Beverly King of Pensacola, Florida, and Mrs. Brenda Ferguson of Mobile, Alabama; five sisters, Dr. Sara Nan Dacus of Kilmichael, Mrs. Mary Lee Hunt of Robertsdale, Alabama, Mrs. Jeanette Zimmerie of Decatur, Alabama, Mrs. Mildred Bawden of Mobile, Alabama, and Mrs. Bessie Mae Henderson of Deland, Florida; two brothers, Lewis Garrett of Semmes, Alabama, and William Garrett of Kilmichael; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Radney Funeral Home chapel on Monday, September, 11, at 10 a.m. Interment was in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Radney Funeral Home of Mobile was in charge of arrangements

Ruby was one of thirteen children born to John Joshua and Bettie Evans Garrett. She married William McKenzie on Oct. 23, 1948. They had four daughters: Marilyn Ethel, Phyllis Lynn, Beverly Shea and Brenda Gail.
