Cecil A. Call, 72, lifelong Idaho resident and active LDS Church worker, died early Thursday morning following a lingering illness.
He was born Dec. 25, 1890, at Elba, Idaho, son of Alonzo and Lucy Elvira Lessey Call.
He married Irene Casper Feb. 7, 1912, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They celebrated golden wedding anniversary in 1962.
he was active in church work and was a High Priest at the time of his death. He served a 27- month mission to the Southern States. He was the first Bishop of the fourth LDS Ward, serving from 1942 until 1947.
Prior to that he served as a counselor under five LDS Ward Bishop. While living in Tayson, Idaho he served on the school board.
Survivors are his widow; four daughters, Luetta (Garold) Waite, Shelley; Ora (Kit) Ballard, Shelley; Velma (Max) Jordan, Milo; Jean (thomas) Frongner, Shelley. One son, Elwood C Call, died in World War II, and a daughter, DeEsta Howell, died a few years ago.
Brothers and sisters surviving include Orvis Call, Magna, Utah; Lessey Call, Canyon Village, Montana; Basil Call, Anaheim, California; Lucy (Lawrence) Taylor, Billings, Montana; Chester Call, California; Edma (Ray) Johnson, Idaho Falls; 16 grand children, 11 great grandchildren.
