"Mrs. Calvin Boster, 61 Lifelong Resident of Community, is Called"
Mrs. Calvin Boster, 61, lifelong resident of this community, died Thursday at her home in Emmetsburg. She had been ill for the past five years and had been confined to her bed for apporximately two years. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Methodist church, the Rev. Paul Huscher presiding. Pall bearers were Bart Fitzpatrick, Grover Chism, Henry Behrends, John Joyce, Jim Sharp and Bernard Bradley. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, with the Foy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Alice Lavina Nickolas was born Oct. 13, 1884 at Mallard, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nicholas Eleonora nee Smith). She was raised in that community and was married on Nov. 11, 1903 to Calvin Boster in Emmetsburg. The Bosters made their home in Emmetsburg and nearby territory during all of their married life.
The deceased is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. Zella Knudson of Kensett and Mrs. Mildred Leonard of Emmetsburg.
Two sisters, three brothers and 11 grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Boster was a kindly neighbor and a loving wife and mother to her family. She was a loyal member of her church and was held in high regard by her many friends throughout the county. She will be sorely missed by her family and the many who knew her. To the survivors go the sincere condolences of the community.
