Mrs. Margaret Cornelius, widow of W.F. Cornelius, died yesterday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock at her home, 401 Ashcroft avenue, Cresson. She was a daughter of Alexander and Matilda (Gates) Troxell and was born at Glasgow April 23, 1873. Her husband died December 26, 1942. Mrs. Cornelius was the old Gold Star Mother in Cresson from the first World War, her son, Lorenzo Cornelius being killed in action in that conflict, and she was a member of the Gold Star Mothers in Washington D.C. She also was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cresson and was president of the Cambria Council of American Legion auxiliaries. Surviving are these children: Clifford of Troy, N.Y., Mrs. Gladys Brubaker, Mrs. Gretta Koons of Cresson, Mrs. Zelma Bannan of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Hannah Brubaker of Johnstown, Troxell Cornelius and Mrs. Helen Zelks on New Kensington and Grace Cornelius, at home, and these brothers and sisters: C.J. Troxell and Frank Troxell, both of Glasgow, Calvin Troxell of Lakemont, Clark Troxell of Johnstown, Mrs. Nancy Thomas of Blandburg, and Mrs. Mina Sneath of Flinton. Friends are being received at the home.
