Bart was born in Madison County, Kentucky on Sunday, June 7th, 1891, son of the late Phillip Jasper "Phil" Rogers and Elizabeth Jackson Rogers.
Bart was survived by two sons, William "Raymond" Rogers and Franklin Delaney "Frank" Rogers; one daughter, Anna Mae Rogers Stone; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Phil Rogers and Elizabeth Rogers; his wife of seventeen years, Lavada Thompson Rogers, whom he married on August 26th, 1920 and who departed this life on December 28th, 1937; two sons, Preston Rogers and George Dramon Rogers; and one son, Addie May Rogers, who died in infancy on June 16th, 1927.
Burial was in the Rogers Cemetery in Berea, Kentucky.
When Bart died he only had one dollar to his name. His daughter, Anna Mae kept that dollar her whole life and now I am keeping it for the rest of my life.
THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF BART,
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when my life is done.
