Bonham -- Raymond Joseph Albert passed from his earthly life on July 3, 2008 at the age of 87 years. He was born February 16, 1921 in the Oklahoma community of Prairie View, the second son of the late Henry Albert and Virgie McDonald Albert. He was a life-long Baptist, having accepted Christ during his early years attending Prairie View Baptist Church.

Raymond married Ruby Jean Brown in Durant, Oklahoma on November 14, 1940. After he and Ruby spent several years living and working in Dumas, Texas and later in Lindsay, California, they purchased and operated a Phillips 66 service station in Calera, Oklahoma until 1998, and after retirement, he moved to Bonham, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby, on July 17, 1988. Also preceding him were brothers, Alva Albert and Dalton Albert.

He is survived by one son and his wife, Larry and Lynda Albert of Bonham, granddaughter and husband, Lori and Will Janacek of Pottsboro, grandson and wife, Joel and Valerie Albert of Allen, three great-grandsons, Jake and Eric Janacek and Cade Albert. Additionally, he is survived by two sisters, Omega Floyd of Frederick and Betty Smith of Durant, one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Myrna Albert of Allison community and sister-in-law, Lou Albert of Calera. Numerous nieces, nephews other extended family, his attentive caregiver, Gail and many friends will also mourn his passing.

A celebration of Raymond's life will be held at the graveside in Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma, at 2:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2008 under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas.

Honoring him as pallbearers are Joel Albert, Will Janacek, Myles Albert, Myron Albert, Michael Lievsay and James Wilkinson.



Family and friends will be at the home of Larry and Lynda Albert following the service.
