The following obituary was published in the Bonham [Texas] Daily Favorite newspaper, Sunday, April 26, 1998:

Funeral services for Alva Edwin Albert, age 80, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Bonham, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 1998 at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas. The Rev. Brett Castle and Albert's brother-in-law, Rev. Vernon Floyd, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Albert passed away Thursday night, April 23, 1998 in McKinney Texas.

Alva Albert was born October 27, 1917 at his family home in rural Prairie View in southeastern Bryan County, Oklahoma. He was the first child of the late William Henry Albert and Virgie Estella (McDonald) Albert. He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas, where he served as a trustee until his failing health forced him to move closer to his daughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dalton Albert, in 1968; and a granddaughter, Kayci Albert, in 1990.

Alva Albert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vera Beatrice (Brown) Albert of McKinney, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and James Wilkinson of Allen, Texas; son, Ronald Albert of Rancho Mirage, California; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Teresa Albert of Bedford, Texas; brothers, Raymond Albert and Dale Albert, both of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters, Omega Floyd of Frederick, Oklahoma and Betty Smith of Durant, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Kevin Wilkinson, Darren Wilkinson, Stephanie Randolph, Brandon Albert, and Krystal Albert; five great grandchildren; two sisters-in law; a brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends he loved as his family.

Alva Albert's nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Wise Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, April 26, 1998.
