Bonham, Texas - Funeral services for Vera Beatrice (Bea) Brown Albert, age 83 of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Adam Barker and Rev. Brett Castle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma.

Recently her health necessitated a move to Allen where she resided at the Victoria Gardens Nursing Facility in Allen, Texas.

Mrs. Albert passed away on December 26, 2003 at the Medical Center of Plano.

She was born on May 17, 1920 in Durant, Oklahoma and married Alva Albert in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1998.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Keith Albert, granddaughter, Kayci Albert and two sisters, Pearl Lievsay and Ruby Albert, two half brothers, Edwin McCoy and Curtis McCoy and a half sister, Alma Ballard.

Mrs. Albert was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas and was a member of the choir. She was a homemaker.

Vera Beatrice (Bea) Brown Albert is survived by her daughter, Jackie Wilkinson and husband, James, Allen, Texas; son, Ronald Albert, Rancho Mirage, California; daughter-in-law, Teresa Albert, Euless, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Larry Albert, Michael Lievsay, Joel Albert, Eddie Cranford, Ray Howell and Will Janacek.

Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2003 at the Wise Funeral Home.

Upon the early death of Emily Brown (#105974016) in 1924, her brother-in-law, Edward Brown (#77185814) and his wife, Bessie Brown (#77185884) obtained non legal custody of Pearl (Brown) Lievsay (#76849997), age 4, and her sister, Vera (Brown) Albert, age 3, and raised them as their own daughters. Another brother-in-law, Joe Brown (#76647456) and his wife, Rebecca Brown (#76647371) obtained non legal custody of the youngest daughter, Ruby (Brown) Albert (#81194500), age 2, and raised her as their own daughter.

Vera Albert had two half brothers, Edwin Gerald McCoy, Sr. (#75676313 and Henry Curtis McCoy (#181208847); and a half sister, Ruth Alma(McCoy) Ballard (#80835272).
