Dale was born in the Prairie View community of Bryan County, Okla., to Henry and Virgie Albert on Oct. 11, 1934. He was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the Bushnell Baptist Church. He married Myrna Kimbrough on Dec. 28, 1956, in Bonham,.
Dale retired in 1996 after 43 years on the "Safeway Hill" in Denison as a plant engineer. During his working career in the vegetable oil industry, he was employed by Safeway, Conway Oil, and AGP. His favorite pastimes were traveling, playing dominos, going to his cabin in the Kiamichi Mountains, and riding four-wheelers.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at the chapel of Coffey Murray Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Okla. Family and friends will meet at the Albert family home following the ceremony.
Pallbearers will be Grayson Albert, Elmer Rogers, John Davis, Jason Phelps, Rayford Phelps, and Jack Proffer. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Lucas, Rogers Hornsby III, and nephews Larry Albert, Don Albert, James Wilkinson, and Glen Smith. Brother Kim McGehee, Roy Floyd, and John Verrill will conduct the service.
Dale was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents Henry and Virgie Albert; and brothers Dalton, Alva, and Raymond Albert. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Myrna Albert; sons Myron Albert of Plano, Myles and grandson Grayson of Yukon, Okla.; daughter Lisa Lewis, husband Dickie, and their children Skyler and Mecheli of Purcell, Okla.; granddaughter Audrey Hudson, her husband Chad, and their children Haley and Gabriel of Noble, Okla.; grandson Josh Lewis, his wife Tasha, and their children Owen and Jada of Little Axe, Okla.; sisters Betty Smith of Durant, Okla., and Omega Floyd of Fredrick, Okla.; sister-in-law Lou Albert of Calera, Okla.; sister-in-law Marvetta Phelps and her husband Benny of the Old Allison community; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as special niece and nephew Gina and Steve Harris, who provided much comfort to him during his illness. .
