Mary Annie Ballard Riggs, 65, of Louisville, died Friday, September 25, 1981, at her residence. She was born in Holy Cross, Oct 23, 1915, where she was a homemaker and part owner of Riggs Fishing Lakes. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Clarence and Mary Jessie Grant Ballard. Survivors include her husband, John "Paul" Riggs, three daughters, Mrs. Bernita Buschermohle (John), Mrs. Margaret Janet Kay Pabon (Eddie) and Mrs. Mary Ann Shem (Ron); nine sons, Francis "Norman", Joseph Stephen (Barbara "Babs"), Jerome David (Wanda), James Patrick (Donna), Thomas Sherman (Rosemary), Philip Edwin (Cathy), Richard Leo, John Bertrand (Terry) and Dennis Wayne; five sisters, Mrs. Irene McIntire of Louisville, Mrs. Lenora Harrell, Mrs. Clarice Mattingly and Mrs. Pearl Downs, all of Bardstown; six brothers, Marcie Ballard of Holy Cross, Carmen, F. L., and Walter Ballard, all of Louisville, Mearl Ballard of Shepherdsville and Grant Ballard of Detroit, Michigan; and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services and visitation was conducted by Foreman Funeral Home of Jeffersontown.
