Services are Held For Mrs. Ora Martin

Mrs. Ora Stafford Martin, native of Chickasaw county, who had resided at Montpelier for the past 36 years, died at 7:15 pm, Sunday at Pontotoc at the home of her son, James Martin. She was 61, and had been in ill health for three years.

Services were conducted from the Montpelier Baptist Church at 10 am Tuesday with the Rev. Richard Estridge, The Rev. Joe Jolly and the Rev. Ulvie Fitts officiating. Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery in Clay County with Houston Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Martin, the widow of the late Alton Martin, was born Dec. 12, 1897, the daughter of James Stafford and Minnie Davis Stafford. She was a member of the Montpelier Baptist Church.

Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl Huffman of Woodland; four sons, Lester A Martin of Montgomery, Ala., James E Martin of Pontotoc, and Clyde and Charles E Martin, both of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Homer Wilson of Mantee, Mrs. Oscar Malone of Cedar Bluff, and Mrs. Claude Adams of Camden, Ark.; seven brothers, John Stafford of Cleveland, Miss., Will and Walter Stafford, both of Mantee, Nuland Stafford of Cedar Bluff, Aubry Stafford of Woodland, Emmett Stafford of Columbus, Miss., and Hack Stafford of Houston. Ten grandchildren also survive.
