Funeral services for Aubrey Lee Stafford a retired Chickasaw County farmer who resided on Route 2 Woodland, were conducted from the Houston Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm Tuesday May 22. The Rev Carl Morris of Clinton and Rev. Johnny Scribner of Nettleton officiated.

Pallbearers were James Martin, Andy Anderson, Leo Stafford, John Stafford, Larry Martin, Estal Stafford.

Mr. Stafford, 80, suffered a massive stroke at his home at approximately 5 pm Wednesday, May 16, and died in the Houston Hospital at 9:45 Sunday evening, May 20.

He was the brother of L. H. Stafford of Houston the only surviving member of a family of sixteen children.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sally McKee Stafford of Woodland; two sons, Carlton Stafford and Charles Stafford both of Woodland, three grandchildren, Bonnie Stafford of Houston, Jimmy Stafford of New Orleans, La. and Danny Stafford of Ackerman; three step grandchildren, Lee and Judy Vaughn of Woodland and Mrs. Peggy Abbott of Houston. One great granddaughter, Dianna Stafford of Ackerman and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Stafford was born Oct 21, 1892 in Clay County but has lived in Chickasaw County near Woodland since 1921. He is a World War I Veteran, having served overseas in France and England.
