Following his elder brother's lead, Tom moved to Colorado and changed his surname to Moore. He married Elizabeth Ann Mead on the 26th of September 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado. Children born in this marriage were: Thomas Jr. (b 1954), Dannette Elizabeth (b 1956), and Kimberly Suzanne (b 1958, d 1958). He had two grand children, Ryan Thomas Moore (b 1973) his pride and joy whom he enjoyed for eleven years, and Kelsey Elizabeth Moore (b 1996) his granddaughter he never met.
Tom began his career in Colorado by building residential homes which he would sell or rent. He and his brother Pat founded Moore Concrete Products Company of Pueblo which manufactured and delivered concrete septic tanks, cisterns, manhole casings, grave liners, and a host of smaller products. Tom also became the owner of Valhalla Cemetery which later became Imperial Memorial Garden Cemetery (Pueblo).
He loved hunting deer, elk and turkey in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He owned 40 acres of prime Colorado mountain land near Beulah, Colorado. On this land he built a dam which created a small lake. He then stocked the lake with rainbow and native mountain trout. He celebrated many a 4th of July at this mountain retreat, cooking breakfasts and savory barbeques for lunch and dinner.
Tom died in his sleep at his home in Pueblo on 9th of November 1984. His grave marker is located near the singing towers in Imperial Memorial Garden Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado.
