Dan was a veteran of World War II.
He married Velma St Pierre (b abt 1924, d 2007) in 1945 or early 1946. Children born during this marriage were: Danny Joeseph (b 3 Oct 1946, d 14 Feb 2011), and Wayne (1949).
Velma and Dan resided in Louisianna. In the early 1950's he recieved a seriuos head injury while working in the oilfields as a cement truck driver for Haliburton. He survived this injury thanks to a stainless steel plate that became part of of his skull bone for the rest of his life. For a number of years after his injury Dan's personal demenour was effected and he was often easily irratated. This lead to a deterioration of his marriage which ended in divorce in the early 1950's. Dan never remarried. Following his elder brother's lead Dan changed his family surname to Moore. Over the years Dan resided in Louisianna, Texas and moved to Pueblo, Colorado where his brothers Raymond and Pat lived. In his latter years his health began to decline and he moved to Seagoville, Texas where his sister Sadie Key and family lived.
In the last few years. as his health further deteriorated, he was cared for in a nursing home in Dallas, Texas. In his last few days he entered St. Luke's Hospital where on 1 September 2014 at approximately 11 pm, Dan passed away. Dan was cremated and his ashes, by request, were sent to his surviving son in Louisianna.
