Bethel Gonzales was the third oldest child born to Jose Isac Norberto Gonzales and Mary Bill Liddia Large. His was the grandson of Lorenzo Gonzalez and Elena Quintero and, Joseph William Large and Esther Josephine Briscoe.

There was one photo where Bethel is just out of sight in a baby crib (1922) with his grandmother Esther, and his brothers Raymond and Dick.

Bethel was quite a ladies man but never married. He was a veteran of World War II, Texas Cpl 1452 Base Unit AAF. Following his elder brother's lead Bethel changed his surname to Moore.

He and his brothers (Raymond, Dick, Pat, and Tom) made a living building houses in Pueblo, Colorado. He loved deer and elk hunting in Colorado with his brothers.

He had been experiencing for some time aches and pains in his arms. One night he arose from bed and drove to the store for a pack of cigarettes. He lit one and began his drive back to his apartment. He never finished that smoke, but succumbed to a heart attack and died on 22 October 1955. The car he was driving slowly veered into the curb, jumped the curb and finally was stopped as it struck a tree. Bethel is buried in the Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pueblo, Colorado.
