Ira Dee Leasure, 85, one-time store owner and poultry farm operator in Armstrong County, died Tuesday (12:40 p.m.) at Grove City. Death at Grove Manor Extended Care Home culminated a lingering illness. Mr. Leasure, after employment for 13 years by the J. A. Gault Co., Kittanning, managed his own store at Bridgeburg for five years. He returned later to Adrian, where he owned and operated a poultry farm. For the past three years, the former Adrian RD 1 resident had made his home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Vensel, 420-3d St., Franklin. Mr. Leasure was a member and an honorary 'Elder of Limestone Church of God, Adrian. He also taught a Sunday school class there for many years. Mr. Leasure's wife, the former Bessie May Wilkins, died Dec. 28, 1968. They had married July 24, 1907. Mr. Leasure was born Feb. 2, 1886 at Adrian, a son of Jacob N. and Amanda (Neale) Leasure. Surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Vensel; one granddaughter; a brother, Robert M. Leasure of Kittanning; sisters Mrs. S.H. (Nora) Coyle, Kittanning; Mrs. C.M. (Mabel) Hooks, Kittanning RD 3; and Mrs. A. C. (Blanche) Ruffner, Manorville. LEASURE — Friends of Ira Dee Leasure, who died Dec. 28, 1971, are being received at Walter G. Snyder Funeral Home, Cowansville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Visitation hours are 7 to 9 tonight, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Raymond Taylor, pastor of Church of God, Franklin, assisted by the Rev. Gerald Chelton, pastor of Limestone Church of God, Adrian. Burial will be in Limestone Church of God Memorial Cemetery. Adrian. Arrangements by Snyder, Cowansville.

Ira Dee Leasure, 85, who had made his home at 420 Third St., with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Vensel, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Grove Manor Extended Care Home, Grove City, following a lingering illness. He was born Feb. 2, 1886 in Adrian, Armstrong County, a son of Jacob N. and Amanda Neale Leasure. He was a merchant by trade, working for the J. A. Gault Company of Kittanning for 13 years and later managing his own store at Bridgeburg for five years. He later returned to Adrian where he owned and operated a poultry farm. He was a member of the Limestone Church of God at Adrian and was an honorary elder of that church. He was also a Sunday School teacher for many years. He and the former Bessie May Wilkins were married July 24, 1907. She died Dec. 28, 1968. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Vensel and one granddaughter, Miss Joy Vensel, both of Franklin; a brother, Robert M. Leasure, Kittanning; three sisters, Mrs. S. H. (Nora) Croyle and Mrs. C. M. (Mabel) Hooks, also of Kittanning and Mrs. A. C. (Blanche) Ruffner of Menorville and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. One son, Malvern D. Leasure; a grandson, Dennis D. Vensel; a brother, Scott N. Leasure, a sister, Mrs. J. C. (Grace) Heginbothom and one step-sister, Mrs. F. R. (Pearle) Bowser preceded him in death. Friends will be received in the Walter G. Snyder Funeral Home at Cowansville Thursday afternoon and evening where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Raymond Taylor will have charge of the services assisted by the Rev. Gerald Chelton, pastor of Limestone Church of God in Adrian. Interment will follow in the family plot in Limestone Church of God Memorial Cemetery.
