Grant Ezra Gladhill, 70, Fairfield RD, died Monday morning at 10:45 in the Waynesboro hospital from chronic myocarditis.
He was the son of the late George Washington and Caroline Miller Gladhill, of near Fountaindale and lived all his life in the Fairfield vicinity. The deceased was a former engineer on the Western Maryland railroad for about seven years and also practiced farming. He was a member of Jacob's Reformed church, Harbaugh's valley, and the Junior Order of American Mechanics, Council 25, Cascade, Maryland.
Surviving is his widow, the former Emma G Miller; five sons, Oscar, of the United States Veterans' hospital, Coatesville; Ermest, Sabillasville, Maryland; Howard and Paul, Fairfield, and Harry, Greenstone; three brothers, Charles, Blue Ridge Summit; James, Fairfield and Roy Gettysburg RD; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Pryor, Cascade, and Mrs. Bessie Howe, Chambersburg and 13 grandchildren. funeral services from the late home Thursday morning at 9:30 with further services at 10:00 at Jacob's Reformed church, conducted by the Revs. D.X. Gass and C.T. Corl. Interment in the church cemetery.
