In failing health for some time, Mr. Batman died at his home, Thursday June 9, 1955 at 5 p.m. after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage about five hours previously.
Mr. Batman the son of Henry Samuel & Mariah W. Landiss Batman, a native of Curby, In., was born June 27, 1875 and died June 9, 1955, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 12 days.
He married the former Miss Lola Bell Williams, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Henry Williams, in Crawford County, In. on June 28, 1896. To this union three children were born, Mae, Beatrice and Coen Batman.
Mr. Batman, a Democrat, was a former Crawford County Councilman his last term expired in November 1954, having served from the first district for twenty years, he never lost an election.
In the early years of his life, he was united.
