Mrs. Ben (Bessie)Cates, 43, died suddenly of apoplexy at her home in Curby, Thursday afternoon August 11, 1927. Funeral services were held at the Dillman Church Saturday afternoon, the Rev. V. P, Kellems officiating. Interment was in the Dillman Cemetery.
The former Bessie Amie Batman daughter of Henry S. and Mariah W. Landiss Batman.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cates were married on September 8, 1905, to this union two children, Garrett and Alma, were born.
Besides her father, husband and children, she is survived by three brothers, John K. Batman, of Curby; Alpheus Batman, of Marengo; Carter P. Batman, of Curby; three sisters, Mrs. Ida C. Kelly, of Marengo; Mrs. Alice J. Coleman, of Leavenworth, and Mrs. Cora B. Lambdin, of Oakley, Calif.
