Milton Alonza Martin

Milton Alonza Martin, 79, of Grenada, died of cancer Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Mr. Martin was a retired machinist for Nicholson File Company in Greenville. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert James Martin.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Oliver Chapel with the Rev. Milton Boyd officiating assisted by the Rev. Norris Corley. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery in Carroll County.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife. Mrs. Ruth Compton Martin of Grenada; one step-daughter, Linda TerHarr of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Michael A. Martin and Lloyd E. Martin, both of Greenville: one step-son, Jerry Compton of Brandon; one sister, Grace Ware of Winona; two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Luther Hood Jr., Claude Ware, Charles Martin, David Vance, James Ray and Lavert Gatlin.

Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
