Dean married Rachel S. Lowrance December 25, 1922. They had four sons: Paul Dean, Jr., Yakima Jack, W. H. (Dub), and Roy Lynn.
Dean was a farmer. In 1937 they moved to Morenci, Arizona where he was a heavy equipment operator in the copper mines. In 1940 they moved back to Oklahoma where they stayed until 1948 when they moved to Lincoln County, Idaho. There Dean bought 120 acres next to his brother Clay. In 1950 Dean, Rachel, and youngest son Roy Lynn moved back to Oklahoma.
Dean died September 1, 1972 and is buried at Delhi Cemetery, Beckham County, Oklahoma with Rachel and near his parents.
