Ike's grand parents were William Ritter (d. 1880 in MO.), and Mary Esther Teel Ritter Beard (buried in this cemetery). Gene had one sister Mary "Sue" Ritter Brake (d.1938 in CA.) and brothers, Elmo L. Ritter, Earl "Ike" Ritter (buried in this cemetery) and John D. "Jack" Ritter (buried in Anthony, KS).

Gene had five nieces and nephews, Wanda Darlene Ritter Price, Jimmie Ray Ritter, Richard Lee Ritter, Linda Sue Ritter Stratton, and Janice Merlyn Ritter Watts. Gene was a kind uncle and is missed.
