Services for Wilma M. Abel, of Rock Island, will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Runge Mortuary and Creamatory, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is noon until the time of services Tuesday at the mortuary. Mrs. Abel died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She retired in 1990 after working since 1975 at Bituminous Insurance. She also had worked at Oscar Mayer from 1947 to 1965. Wilma Allsup was born Nov. 7, 1928 in Little York, IL. She married Jesse Abel, Jr. in 1950 in Rock Island. He died in 1964. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Humane Society. Survivors include daughters, Vicki Conklin of Davenport, and Brenda Abel of Blue Grass, Iowa; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Naomi Schlobohm of Coal Valley, IL, Betty Allsup of Qunicy, IL, and Susan Horn of Carthage, IL.; and brothers, Frank Allsup of St. Mary, OH, and Joe Allsup and Walter Allsup, both of Kenton, OH.
