The Hawkeye, Keokuk, IA Walter Lewis "Wally" Allsup, 70, of Upper Sandusky, ohio, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, died at 3:56 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born on March 28, 1940 in Bowen, Illinois, the son of Warren Luman and Rhoda Virginia (McCoy) Allsup. He married Shirley Rae Hall in 1957, and they were the parents of 10 children. She preceded him in death. In December 1989, he married Debbie Hicks Farrar. She survives in Upper Sandusky. Mr. Allsup owned Allsup Logging Setrvice in Mendon, Ohio, and later was the owner of A. & P. Wood Products in Kenton, Ohio. He was a member of Ada Full Gospel Church in Ada, Ohio. He enjoyed being in the timber. In addition to his wife, survivors include: four sons, Wally Allsup of Des Moines, Iowa, Jammie Allsup of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Jeff (Amy) Allsup of Rushsylvania, Ohio, and Kenny (Dara) Allsup of Kenton, Ohio; four daughters, Jill (Jeff) Lucas of Fort Madison, Iowa, Lori Hood of Kenton, Marie (Darrell) Anderson of Keokuk and Julie (Rick) Wrieden, also of Keokuk; a step-son, David Farrar of Bowling Green, Ohio; two step-daughters, Amanda (Eric) Miller and Jessica (Kossi) Ayivi, both of Upper Sanduskey; 28 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Joe (Sharon) Allsup of Kenton, Frank (Lola) Allsup of St. Mary, Ohio, and Johnny (Vivian) Allsup of Fairfield; two sisters, Naomi (Bill) Scholehm of Oquawka, Illinois, and Betty Allsup of Quincy, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Steve Allsup and Raymond Allsup; a daughter Nora Jane Umphries; three grandchildren, Jenice Marshall, Danielle Wrieden and Michael Lee Boyle Allsup; four brothers, Albert, Harry, Buster and Charles Allsup; and four sisters, Minnie, Wilma, Susie and Emma Jean. A local service will be at a later date. His body has been cremated. Memorials may be made to the family. Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral home in Kenton is in charge of arrangements.
