Mrs. Parker was the mother of eleven children, ten of whom, several daughters and three sons and her husband survive her.
Her daughters are, Mrs. James Leavitt, Mrs. E C. Webber, Miss Ella and Alta of Joseph. Mrs. R.D. Young, Mrs. Scott McLelian of Loa. Mrs. W.F. Goodman of Salt Lake.
Her sons are Joseph W., John A. and Bryant Parker, all of Joseph.

Mary Elizabeth Ross was born 4 March 1845 Hancock County, Illinois. She was born seven months after the Martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Patriarch Hyrum Smith. She was a baby when the mob burned the home they lived in.The family soon left with the Saints leaving the city they loved and the beautiful Nauvoo Temple.

Traveling by ox team the Ross family arrived in the Salt Lake Valley in the Arron Johnson Company on the sixth of September 1850.They settled in Provo,Utah,Utah and in 1861 they moved to Heber City.Mary Elizabeth was five years old when she came across the plains.

Mary Elizabeth was the Daughter of Thomas Ross and Rachel Smith.

It was while living at Provo,Utah that Mary Elizabeth met Joseph Faulkner Parker. She was ten and he was fourteen, He looked at her and said "That is the girl who will someday be my wife", and when she was 16 and he was 20 they were married on June 30 1861 at her Father's home in Heber City.

While living in Heber City She suffered many hardships, while her husband was in the Black Hawk War, Scouting, fighting Indians, trying to protect his family from Indians.

In 1872 when she had four children, they moved to Kanosh, Millard County,Utah. they were engaged in farming and cattle raising.Here three more children were born.

They left Kanosh, and moved to Joseph,Sevier,Utah,in Joseph she gave birth to her last four children.

In Joseph they both were active in the L.D.S.Church, and in 1887 Joseph Faulkner was called on a mission for the Church.In his absence she managed the farm, and family, and kept him in money to carry on his mission.

While he was away she attended a school of Obstetrics for six months, in Elsinore, Utah.

In 1888 she was called to part with her baby son James Marion two and one half years old. He died of diphthera.Her daughter Hulda Jane Leavitt also lost children two sons and two daughters from diphthera. The epidemic of dipthera took thirty children.

She attended the Manti Temple Dedication and was one of a number present who heard the Heavenly Choir.

She was quiet, tender hearted,and understanding, a loveing Mother,

She was the first of two plural wives of Joseph Faulkner Parker.

One of her friends in Heber City said of her in her youth that she was one of the most beautiful girls in Provo and the surrounding areas.

She was a sweet,understanding wife, and the Mother of 11 children. Hulda Jane, Joseph William,Thomas Bryant, John Alma, Mary Susannah, Anna Elizabeth, Amy Eleanor, Rachel Estella, Ella Minerva , James Marion died as a child, Alta Francis Parker,
