JONES
Dora Jones, age 96, of Comanche passed away at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday March, 30, 1994, in the De Leon Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2nd, in the Hall & Chaney Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Raymond Jones and Reverend Sam Randolph officiated.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Jones, R.B. Jones, Curtis Jones, Gregory Jones, David Jones, Weldon Swanger, John Newton, Tom Helland, Jeff Helland, John Jones, Jay Jones, and Ryan Swanger.
Mrs. Jones was born July 12, 1897 in Gap, Texas to the late A.L. and Elizabeth Chambers McDaniel. She was married to John P. Jones April 6, 1913 in Gap, Texas. He preceded her in death in April 23, 1958.
Mrs. Jones moved to Comanche in 1948 from Sidney, where she was owner of the Sidney Mercantile. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in De Leon.
She is survived by one daughter, Nia Reese of Comanche; two sons, Benton Reese of Covina, California and J.P. Jones of Lake Kiowa, Texas; one brother, Parker McDaniel of Gorman, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, C.W. Jones in 1993.
