HARRY J. POTTS FUNERAL HELD AT GALUM WEDNESDAY
Mr. Harry Joel Potts beloved husband of Roxanne Potts nee (Goodrich) died very suddenly at his home near Swanwick, Ill., Dec. 7, 1914, at the age of 38 years, 6 months and 14 days. The deceased was born near Sharpsburg, Illinois, May 23, 1876.
He was united in marriage to Roxanna Alleta Goodrich, August 14, 1897 and to this union were born nine children, all of whom are left to mourn his loss. They are: Garland, Nathan, Alleta, Elwood, Eleanor, LaVay, Clifford, Ivan and Helen. Besides his wife and children he is survived by his mother, Fayanna E. Potts, his brothers, Herbert, Myron, Arch, Clyde, Charles and sisters, Mesdames, Lou Alexander, Mrs. Anna Bedham all of Taylorville, Ill., also his brother Joe of North Dakota and Almond of Meadville, Mo. In 1908 they moved from Taylorville, Ill., to Missouri then to a farm near Swanwick in 1914, where they resided at the time of his death. He was a Member of the Woodsman lodge in Swanwick.
Funeral services were held at the Galum Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. Bullard of DeSoto, Ill., after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjacent to the church. The family have the sympathy of the entire community.
