CLYDE POTTS, 54, PROMINENT FARMER DIES
Clyde Potts, 54, prominent farmer residing four miles northwest of this city, and a native of Christian county, died at 6:45 o'clock this morning in the St. Vincent hospital. He had been ill for three weeks, and had been a patient at the hospital since last Tuesday.
Mr. Potts was born at the Potts homestead, near Taylorville, May 21, 1884, the son of Nathan and Fianna Elnora Kemmerer Potts. He had resided in the home, which he now owns four miles northwest of Taylorville in 1908. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Edinburg.
Mr. Potts was a cheerful and loveable disposition and his many acts of kindness and charity will always live in the community in which he resided. His bright life will always be remembered by his many relatives and friends.
Surviving are his wife, and the following brothers and sisters: Charles E. and Myron E., both of near this city; Mrs. A. M. Alexander of near Palmer; Mrs. Anna Benham and Mrs. Myrtle E. Edmunds, both of near this city; A. A. Potts of Olathe, Kansas, and Joseph C. Potts of Mercedes, Tex. Three brothers preceded him in death: Harry Joel in December, 1914; Herbert Franklin in September, 1927, and Arch Ellsworth in July, 1928.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the local Christian church. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
The body will be removed to the Potts residence from the Chestnut and Pearce funeral home this evening.
