Died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 1957 at residence in Walker, La. Born Oct. 20, 1880 in East Baton Rouge Parish, was 76 years old. Body will be at home of son, Sidney B. Covington in Walker. Funeral services to be held there at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 1957 with religious services to follow at 10 a.m. at Friendship Methodist Church, conducted by Revs. T. W. Sibley, J. D. Carroll and T. E. Clark. Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Galloway, Flavors Galloway, James Wascom, Alfred Wascom, Roy Graham and Homer Graham. Interment will be in Vickers Cemetery in Walker. Survivors include eight sons, S. P. Galloway of Walker; J. P. Covington of Denham Springs; and Edward, Eldon, Erlo, D. E., Sidney B. and Leo Covington, all of Walker; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Graham and Mrs. Melvin Wascom, both of Walker and Mrs. Frank Reinninger of Denham Springs; three brothers, William and Van Achord, both of Walker and Willis Achord of Livingston; 36 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. Was a member of Friendship Methodist Church. Holabaugh Spindle Mortuary in charge of funeral arrangements.
