Mrs. Julia A. Bonjour died Monday, January 11, 1904, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Burdette, in Centralia.
Julia A. Simon was born near Neuchatel, Switzerland, June 30, 1830. She came to this country with her parents at the age of 20. She was married to F. H. Bonjour, sr., in 1850 at Buffalo, New York. They moved to Kansas in 1857 and settled near Neuchatel post office in this county. Eleven children were born to them; six girls and five boys, of which survive her: Mrs. Adele Sandoz, Los Angeles, Cal., F. H. Bonjour, jr., Onaga, Paul Bonjour, Eureka, Cal., Mrs. Anne Burdett, Centralia, Mrs. Alice Burdett, Onaga, Kan., Mrs. Zelena Westlake, Onaga, Kan.
Mrs. Bonjour united with the Presbyterian church at the age of sixteen and was a faithful member until her death. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Neuchatel Wednesday morning conducted by Rev. Knotter. The remains were laid to rest in the Neuchatel cemetery.
