Pierre Frederick Simon is the son of Jean Pierre Simon and Anne Catherine Junod. He arrived in America on 2 September 1850 on the ship "St. Nicholas" from Le Havre to New York. In a documentary film on the Riverside cemetery it was noted "among those buried, mention should be made of Pierre Frederick Simon, a romantic figure of pioneer days." After his death, his wife and children move on to Kansas, establishing a small Swiss colony in Nemaha County.
