Iva May "Ivy" Conger Glasscock was the daughter of John Thomas Conger and Amanda Green Arnold. She was born in Valdasta, Texas on March 9, 1904.

Iva had six siblings: Mamie Dora "Eudie" Conger (Rusher), Hubert Hart Conger, Mertie Lavada Conger, William Clinton "Bill" Conger, Minnie Sophy Conger, and Benjamin Alvie "Pete" Conger, Sr.

Iva married Boyd Franklin Britton in Texas about 1921. Together, they had five children: Essie Pauline Britton (Pair), Allen Leo Britton, Edna Lorene Britton(McClish), Dorothy Ola Britton (Akins), and James Leon Britton. Boyd deserted Iva and their five young children in about 1930; their date of divorce is unknown.

In September 1935, Iva gave birth to a son she named Charles Clifford Britton. Though he was given the Britton name, his biological father is unknown.

On June 10, 1936, Iva married Earl Smith Glasscock. Together, they had three children: Leonard Lee Glasscock, Ivan Garland Glasscock, and Claude Richard "Rick" Glasscock. Available records will show they also had a son named Franklin Dee "Frank" Glasscock, but he was actually their grandson and technically their adopted son. Frank's biological parents were Clarence Gee Glasscock, Earl's son from his first marriage to Emma Gertrude Burns, and Essie Pauline Britton (Pair), Iva's daughter from her first marriage to Boyd. Earl and Iva raised Frank because Clarence and Pauline were young and unmarried; they loved him and always treated him as if he were one of their own. Earl, Iva and their children all lived happily together in Amarillo, Texas.

Iva was living at the home of her daughter, Dorothy Glasscock Akins, at the time of her passing on May 23, 1974 in Amarillo. She was buried among family at Llano Cemetery, also in Amarillo. Iva will always be remembered as a selfless, caring wife and mother who loved her family.
