Claude Richard "Rick" Glasscock was the son of Earl Smith Glasscock and Iva Mae "Ivy" Conger Britton. He was a career soldier in the US Army, serving from his draft in August 1969 to his retirement in July 1992. He was a veteran of both the Vietnam and Gulf wars. Rick died unexpectedly due to complications of surgery at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was cremated in lieu of burial after receiving full military honors.
Prior to his death, Rick owned a lovely home in Lawton with his fourth wife, Gertrude "Gerdi" Rogale Foster, who survives him and with whom he raised two step children, Martin and Suzanne Foster (Davis). Rick and Gerdi were married in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 15, 1991.
Rick's family lived in Roaring Springs, Texas at the time of his birth. He had a total of 10 siblings between his parents, who both had children from previous marriages. His half siblings from his father's first marriage to Emma Gertrude Burns were: Ruby Hazel Glasscock (Hammond) and Clarence Gee Glasscock.

He always said that Elvis Presley's "My Way" should be played at his funeral. He was an intelligent, clever man, and so witty-- always telling jokes and pulling pranks.
