On September 1, 1918, Pete married Beulah Mae Wood (most likely in Collin County, Texas). According to this author's records, they had a total of nine children. One child, whose name is unknown, was stillborn. Mary Lillian Conger, their first born, died shortly after birth. Their living children were: Roberta Belle Conger (Vermillion), Benjamin Alvie Conger, Jr., Patrick Cleburn Conger, Orville Lewis Conger, Tommy Gene Conger, Howard Leon Conger, and Jack Randle "John" Conger.
Pete worked as a school custodian for the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, Texas. He preceded his wife in death, dying from heart disease on March 25, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. He was buried at Grove Hill Cemetery on March 27, 1956.
