Mrs. B. L. Caldwell Funeral services for Mrs. Brice L. Caldwell, 70, of 5614 Brentwood Drive, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Wright and Ferguson Chapel with Dr. G. Roland Sims, her pastor, and Dr. B. Frank Smith of Hattiesburg officiating. She died early Monday morning in Baptist Hospital after an illness of several weeks. A native of Simpson County, she was the former Mattie Bass, daughter of the late PPhilip Benjamin and Mary Thompson Bass. Her husband preceeded her in death in 1949. Mrs. Caldwell had been a resident of Jackson for the past 39 years. She was a member of Central Presbyterian church and the Magnolia State Chapter of D. A. R. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Bruce H. (Trudi) Nicholson; one son, John B. Caldwell; two grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Caldwell and John Brice Caldwell Caldwell Jr.. all of Jackson; four sisters, Mrs. Henry L. Brown of Summit; Mrs. Mary B. Clary of Jackson; Mrs. B. Frank Smith of Hattiesburg and Mrs. Claude A. Bush Sr. of Mobile, Ala. and two brothers, Philip B. Bass of Jackson and Archie B. Bass Sr. of Pinola. Pallbearers will be Curtis E. Coker, Vance Clemmer Jr., Maurice Boyd, J. N. Mackey, Walter F. Welch and William H. Bennett Jr. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
