Thomas Wesley Rominger was the third of eight known children of Charles (went by Carl) William Rominger (1810-1897) and Mary Ann Walter Miksch (1812-1894), who married on 29 Jan 1838 at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Carl had previously been married to Fannie Holston Rominger (1811-1837) on 08 Feb 1833 and they were the parents of two children, whom both died young.
Thomas was first married to Charlotte Permelia Zeigler (1847-1874) on 10 Feb 1867 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Thomas and Charlotte were the parents of three known children, namely:
1. Lillian M. Rominger Barnaby Crist (1868-1946)
2. Anna Rominger Russell (1869-1951)
3. Gentry Walter Rominger (1872-1939)
After Charlotte died, Thomas remarried to Sarah Jane Bonnell Tinker (1846-1925) on 01 Jun 1876 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Thomas and Sarah were the parents of three known children, namely:
4. Hattie Bonnell Rominger Morrison (1877-1956)
5. Lewis Thomas Rominger (1883-1956)
6. James Blaine (or Bonnell?) Rominger (1884-1959)
In 1880 Thomas W. Rominger (a saw miller), wife Sarah, and children: Lillie, Anna, Gentry and Hattie were living at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. In 1900 Sarah said she was the mother of seven, four living. Four of these seven children were Tinkers and three were Romingers.
In the obituary of the daughter Lillian it says that she had a deceased sister, Mrs. Ida Wertz, who was one of the Tinker children.
Thomas was a Private in Company I, 33rd Indiana Infantry, during the Civil War.

He was reared on his father's farm, and at seventeen, or in July, 1861, he enlisted in Company I, Thirty-Third Indiana Volunteers, with which he served during the entire war, receiving his discharge at Louisville, July 21, 1865. He then returned home and spent one year with his parents. He was married in January, 1867, to Charlotte Ziegler, who also was a native of Haw Creek Township, being the daughter of Daniel B. and Rebecca (Gambold) Zeigler.
She was born in February, 1847, and died March 9, 1874. Mr. Rominger continued to follow agricultural pursuits until 1876, since which time he has given his attention to saw milling. He was married to Mrs. Sarah J. Tinker, June 1, 1876, who is a native of Monroe County, Ohio, born February 11, 1846, and daughter of George W. and Kavie (Anderson) Bonnell, who were respectively natives of Vrginia and Ohio. October 11, 1868, she was married to James M. Tinker, who died March 22, 1875. After his second marriage Mr. Rominger located to Hope. In November, 1882 he removed to Hartsville, where he now resides.
He is one of the proprietors of extensive saw milling interests at that place, being the partner of John Rodgers. In all, Mr. Rominger is the father of six children, Lillie, Anna, Gentry W., Hattie B., Lewis T. and James B., the last three of whom are children of his present wife. The first marriage of Mrs. Rominger resulted in the birth of four children, Elsie, Ida, Freddie and George, of whom only Ida is living. Mr. and Mrs. Rominger are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The former is a member of the G.A.R. and K. of L. lodges, and in politics he is a republican.
