Amanda H. Rominger was the second of eight known children of Charles William Rominger (1810-1897) and his second wife, Mary Ann Walter (1812-1894), who married 29 Jan 1838 at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Charles had previously been married to Fannie Holston (1811-1837) on 08 Feb 1833, with whom he had two known children.
Amanda married John W. Parks (1835-1891) on 14 Aug 1859 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Amanda and John were the parents of six known children,namely:

3. Mary Alice Parks Emmel (1865-1941)
4. William Walter Parks (1868-1949)
