Thomas died on 6 Oct 1832, Patrick Co., VA and was probably buried on his farm near Elamsville, Patrick Co., VA.
1832-1834, Cynthia took the rest of the family west to Missouri. Besides Cynthia, sons Wiley, Richard, Thomas, Sanders and daughter Letha went to Missouri and settled in Saline Co., MO and adjoining Howard County. Son Jefferson apparently went to join his older brothers Abraham and John in Wilson Co., TN about this time.
About 1834, Howard or Saline Co., MO - daughter Leatha married Stephen Akers. He was from Franklin Co., VA and had come to Missouri about 1827, age sixteen.

1850 - Cynthia, who never remarried, went west at the age of 75 to 77 to Sonoma Co., CA with her daughter Letha and son-in-law Stephens Akers and sons Richard and Sanders Sneed. They arrived in October.
Her son Richard's wife died on the way to California:
"Sarah died crossing the plains."
From Letha's obituary:
"In 1850 she started overland with her husband for California, and in October of the same year she arrived in Sonoma Valley and located on a farm four miles south of Sonoma, where she lived continuously up to the day of her death."
From Stephen's obituary:
"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."
1852 or 1853 - Son Wiley brought his family from Jackson Co., MO and settled in Napa, Napa Co., CA.
Cynthia died on 9 Jul 1858, Sonoma Co., CA and was buried at Valley Cemetery, Sonoma, Sonoma Co., CA.

Besides Cynthia, sons Wiley, Richard, Thomas, Sanders and daughter Letha went to Missouri and settled in Saline Co., MO and adjoining Howard County. Son Jefferson apparently went to join his older brothers Abraham and John in Wilson Co., TN about this time.

"In 1850 she started overland with her husband for California, and in October of the same year she arrived in Sonoma Valley and located on a farm four miles south of Sonoma, where she lived continuously up to the day of her death."
From Stephen's obituary:
"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."
1852 or 1853 - Son Wiley brought his family from Jackson Co., MO and settled in Napa, Napa Co., CA.

1850 - Letha and Stephen headed west to California and arrived in Sonoma County in Oct of that year. Stephen's obituary says that they were married in Missouri and started to Calfornia from there. However, at least three of their children were born in Virginia, so they were married before they moved to Missouri sometime after 1844.
From Letha's obituary:
"In 1850 she started overland with her husband for California, and in October of the same year she arrived in Sonoma Valley and located on a farm four miles south of Sonoma, where she lived continuously up to the day of her death."
From Stephen's obituary:
"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."

Thomas died on 6 Oct 1832, Patrick Co., VA and was probably buried on his farm near Elamsville, Patrick Co., VA.
1832-1834, Cynthia took the rest of the family west to Missouri. Besides Cynthia, sons Wiley, Richard, Thomas, Sanders and daughter Letha went to Missouri and settled in Saline Co., MO and adjoining Howard County. Son Jefferson apparently went to join his older brothers Abraham and John in Wilson Co., TN about this time.
About 1834, Howard or Saline Co., MO - daughter Leatha married Stephen Akers. He was from Franklin Co., VA and had come to Missouri about 1827, age sixteen.

Her son Richard's wife died on the way to California:

From Letha's obituary:
"In 1850 she started overland with her husband for California, and in October of the same year she arrived in Sonoma Valley and located on a farm four miles south of Sonoma, where she lived continuously up to the day of her death."
From Stephen's obituary:
"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."
1852 or 1853 - Son Wiley brought his family from Jackson Co., MO and settled in Napa, Napa Co., CA.

1832-1834, Cynthia took the rest of the family west to Missouri. Besides Cynthia, sons Wiley, Richard, Thomas, Sanders and daughter Letha went to Missouri and settled in Saline Co., MO and adjoining Howard County. Son Jefferson apparently went to join his older brothers Abraham and John in Wilson Co., TN about this time.

"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."
1852 or 1853 - Son Wiley brought his family from Jackson Co., MO and settled in Napa, Napa Co., CA.

"In 1850 she started overland with her husband for California, and in October of the same year she arrived in Sonoma Valley and located on a farm four miles south of Sonoma, where she lived continuously up to the day of her death."
From Stephen's obituary:
"After receiving an education, such as was afforded by the schools of those days, he started westward at the age of sixteen and emigrated to Missouri. There he was united in marriage with Miss Letha Snead, who died in this valley a few years ago, and in 1850 accompanied by his wife, he started overland for California by ox team, arriving in Sonoma Valley on October 11th of the same year."
