Mrs. Ora Matilda Fletcher, 90, daughter of Richard C. and Roanna Hart Fielden was born in the Turley community of Texas County, October 6, 1890 and died at Lebanon, Mo. Nov. 28, 1980.
She was united in marriage to Wheeler A. Fletcher on June 8, 1912. To this union eight children were born, five sons, all living in Missouri. They are Normice, Jacob, and Ralph of Manes; Kermit of Lebanon, and Kirby of Houston; three daughters, Glandean Branstetter of Lebanon, Lavern Rumfelt of Hartville and Jewel Foley of San Diego, Calif.
Wheeler Fletcher preceded her in death on January 27, 1975. She is survived by her eight children, 31 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Walter Fielden, Rio Del, Calif. and a sister, Edith Bray, Grayland, Wash.
Ora Fletcher led a full and active life. At the age of 17 she was baptized into the fellowship of the Liberty Baptist Church at Turley. After her marriage she became a member of the Manes Baptist Church where she took an active part until her health failed.
She became a teacher at an early age and taught elementary school in rural schools. After her marriage she devoted her time to her family.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1 in the Manes Baptist Church with the
Rev. Richard McDaris, the Rev. Normice Fletcher, and the Rev. Kirby Fletcher officiating. Burial was in Manes Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt-Hutsell-Dedmon Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove.
