Agnes Rose Davis died December 4, 1971, a resident of 1533 A Street, Hydesville. Wife of the late Tony Davis who preceded her in death in 1926. Mother of Elmer E. Davis of Hydesville, Cecil E. Davis of Fortuna, and Mrs. Helen Davis of Girdwood, Alaska. Sister of Walter Fielden of Rio Dell, Mrs. Edith Bray of Union, Washington, and Mrs. Ora Fletcher of Lynchberg, Missouri. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Liberty, Missouri, where she was an elementary school teacher for three years before moving to Idaho, where she taught for 8 years prior to moving to California and Humboldt County in 1927. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Fortuna, aged 86.

Friends are invited to attend services at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary Tuesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. with the Elder James Pogue officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Eureka. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1102 5th Street, Eureka.
