She was the daughter of Herbert & Estella Lee (Davis) Chaffee. She married Dan Gillespie about 1928 in Lincoln, NE. The marriage ended a few years later. (no children) She married Walter Francis 'Jack' Kowrack Jul 12, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. Jack died Sep 13, 1956 and Miriam moved back to Lincoln to raise her two girls, both of whom are still living today (2010).
