Mr. Idas Dames Galbreath, age 72, Route 2, Vidalia, Ga., died in the Veterans Hospital, Dublin, Ga., on Wednesday, June 20, 1990 following a brief illness.

Mr. Galbreath was a Toombs County bailiff for many years and was a retired businessman and farmer. He was the son of the late William Hugh and Catherine Fiveash Galbreath and had lived in Toombs County all of his life. He was a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Galbreath is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Dowdy Galbreath, Vidalia; one daughter, Mrs. Kathy Bryant, Vidalia; three sons, Hugh Galbreath and David Galbreath, Vidalia and Ike Galbreath, Thomson; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Galbreath were held in the New Corinth Baptist Church on Saturday, June 23, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bob Corley officiating. Interment followed in the Galbreath Cemetery. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Everette Booth, Ellis Hitchcock, Carlton Galbreath, Greg Tippett, G.P. Tippett and Ashley Lynn.
