SWIFT, Betty Mathews, 88, of Rosswell GA, passed away May 19, 2012 after a long battle with dementia and vascular disease. A native of Atlanta, she attended Washington Seminary (Westminster School) graduating in 1941 and was a lifelong member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Tom Swift; her brothers, C. Howard Mathews, William B. Mathews, Frank S. Mathews, Lawrence G. Mathews, Hampton H. Mathews; sister, Emily Mathews Schurmer; and parents, Elizabeth Bailey and Chesley Howard Mathews. She is survived by her daughter...son-in-law..., son James Barton Gause {deceased at this posting}, grandsons...two great grandchildren...and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. A memorial service and interment will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to North Avenue Presbyterian Church...Arrangements are under the direction of SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society of Marietta.
