Charles Tom Swift, 91, of Roswell GA passed away May 3, 2009 after a long battle with cancer.

A native of Atlanta, he attended North Fulton High School and valiantly served in World War II in the Army Air Corp. 8th Air Force where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Silver Star, Purple Heart along with several other honors and awards. Tom owned Tom Swift Realty in Atlanta for over 40 years. He is the son of the late Nancy Reed Swift and Charles Thomas Swift.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Mathews Swift; daughter Anne Hicks-Coolick (Arnold Coolick); son Jim Gause (Irene); two grandsons, Allen Hicks (Laura) and Joseph Hicks (Lori); and great grandchildren Lucy and Benjamin Hicks.

A memorial service will be held on Friday May 15 at 11 am at North Avenue Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, 607 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA. 30308. Military honors will be rendered. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to North Avenue Presbyterian Church Business Office. Cremation Society of the South in Marietta is in charge of the arrangements.
