Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m., today, November 30. Mr. Langheld's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Friday.
Mr. Langheld was born February 19, 1929 in Minden to the late Minnie Ola Miller Langheld and Christopher Reynolds Langheld Sr., and died Tuesday, November 28, at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. Langheld served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the official board. Mr. Langheld also served as District President of the United Methodist Men's Association. Mr. Langheld worked with Civil Service for 32 years, retiring as a radar technician.
He was an avid fisherman who loved traveling in his motor home and gardening. He was a loved husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard Glen Langheld; and one brother, Danny Langheld.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mae Chumney Langheld of Ozark, Ala.; one daughter, Adonna Benz and husband Kellen of Mandan, N.D.; three sisters, Ruby Watson of Minden, Violet Goodwin of Arlington, Washington and Carolyn Duncan of Highlands, Texas; four grandchildren, Shannon Swain, Jeremy David Morrison, Angela Rene Morrison and John Anthony Peters; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Swain, Brandi and Brook Morrison.
