She was born July 13, 1925, in Noble, Ill., to Ben and Ethel (Hughes) Parsons. She married J. Don Dickerson on Dec. 23, 1950 in Noble, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1957. Ida is also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are one son, Jeff (Jean) Dickerson of Morton; three grandchildren, Sarah (Dan) Veatch, Joel Dickerson, and Daniel Dickerson, all of Morton; and one great-granddaughter, Elly Veatch, also of Morton.
Ida worked for the state of Illinois, retiring in 1987, as an Administrative Assistant.
Ida was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morton. Prior to moving to Morton, she was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Olney where she taught Sunday School, assisted with Vacation Bible School, and was involved in the Jail Ministry. She was also a volunteer at the Apostolic Christian Restmor of Morton.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, IL. Rev. Dr. Richard Shaw and Rev. Dr. Jim Gibson will officiate.
