Ben E. "Shorty" Parsons, 86, died suddenly at his home in Enid, Okla., on Saturday, September 15, 2007.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Parsons was born February 16, 1921, in Noble, the son of Ben and Ethel Parsons, of Noble.

He worked as a toolpusher for many years for Calvert's Drilling Co. in Olney before moving to Oklahoma City, Okla. He loved his little dogs.

Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife, Doris Parsons; daughters, Rae Jean (Parsons) Richardson and her husband, Ronnie, of Noble, Peggy (Parsons) Orr and her husband, Ken, of Pine Hill, Ala., and Kristy Parsons, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters, Marjorie Baker, of Olney, and Ida Dickerson, of Morton; brother, Charles Parsons, of Fairfield; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and a stepdaughter and her husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Willina Jones, Madline Stoltz and Pauline Bradfield; and grandson, Steve Woodard.
