Although her headstone shows 1880 as her birth year, she is 2 on the 1880 Census. Her birth year on her marriage certificate is 1879, 1900 Census shows Sept 1878 and her brother July 1880, 1910 Census shows Abt. 1881, 1920, 1930 and 1940 Census lists Abt. 1883.

Ethel was married twice. First to Kenneth G. Crawford on July 8, 1901 in Lehi City, Utah and they had one daughter: Clarice E. Crawford Abbey (1902-1969).

Second marriage to Ernest Earl Kennett and they had one son Earl W. Kennett (1908-1974).

Note: I have seen spelling of last name as Van Alstyne and Van Alstine.

Kennett, Ethel – passed away Aug. 14 at a local hospital. Her home was at S1627 Perry. Survived by her husband, Ernest E. Kennett at the home, 1 son, Earl W. Kennett, and one daughter Mrs. Clarice E. Abbey, both of Spokane, 1 brother, James Crawford of Salt Lake City, Utah and 1 sister, Mrs. Delia Clegg of Park City, Utah; 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Abbey, U.S. Army, stationed at San Luis Obispo, and Mrs. Beverly Black of Spokane. Several nieces and nephews. A member of St. David's Episcopal church. Thornhill-Carey Funeral Home.
