Be it remembered, that in the 21st day of August 1896, there was issued from the Office of the Probate Judge, a Marriage License of which the following is a true copy:

MARRIAGE LICENSE -- MONTGOMERY COUNTY, KANSAS -- AUGUST 21, 1896

To Any Person Authorized By Law To Perform The Marriage Ceremony, Greeting: You are hereby authorized to join in Marriage, Albert Bretches of Lorimer, of Lorimer, aged: 20 years and Cora Beathe of Lorimer, aged 18 years, and this License you will make due return to my office within thirty days -- Seal: N. E. Benton, Probate Judge.

And which said Marriage License was afterwards, to wit, on the 21st day of August A.D. 1896, returned to said Judge with the following certificate endorsed there on to wit:

I, G. E. Gilmore, do hereby certify, that in accordance with the authorization of the within License, I did, on the the 21st day of August A.D. 1896 at Independence, in said County joined and united in Marriage the within named, Albert Bretches and Cora Beathe.
